I always felt the ST and RS hot hatch models gave Ford some soul, Europe is lucky they'll still have them.

With the drastic changes and sacrifices Ford is doing to its vehicle lineup outside Europe, I hope we also see big improvements in the company (earnings/profits, stock price etc.)
I'll be very surprised if we dont get an Escape ST. Ford had to see how popular the Focus ST and Fiesta ST were and since we arent getting those I expect them to slap ST badges on all crossovers. Already seen the Edge ST and we know the Explorer ST is coming.

Yep, they will have the Escape ST to compete with the new Golf GTI and R and the current Civic Type R. Good luck with that....

Re: 2020 Escape ....or things mistaken for one ;-)

Maybe Ford plans to make two Escape sizes, sort of like Nissan's Rogue (aka X-trail) with a traditional wagon-style SUV body and the Rogue Sport (aka Qashqai) which has a shorter hatchback-style body.

Of course this may seem redundant for Ford since they plan to sell the Focus Active.
Nissan for example doesn't have a raised hatchback car-based CUV, instead it has a shorter version of its compact crossover SUV.

Re: 2020 Escape

I wonder if Ford will offer just the minimum that China requires for the incentive (31 miles) or try and match Volt at 53 miles. With 40 miles being the average daily round trip commute, at 53 miles there would be no need to think abut charging at work, but just at home, at night while the car sits. And if Ford can give it enough range for the daily commute, they may get some consumers to keep that ICE engine as well, until they upgrade to a full EV.

When I say raised version of their hatchback, I meant literally like the Active models of Ford.

Current compact crossover SUVs have grown bigger, this opened up a sub-segment to fill the gap between traditional B-segment crossover SUVs and the larger wagon type C-segment crossover SUVs.

The two approaches to make the smaller C-segment CUVs/SUVs:
1. Make a shorter version of the traditional wagon style C-segment crossover SUV like the Qashqai (aka Rogue Sport)

2. Raise its C-segment hatchback and add cladding like the XV aka Crosstrek

Toyota used to offer two lengths for its 5-door Rav4s, a short one and a long one (some markets only got one size)

The QX30 arrives in mid-2016...

Is this the unnamed small SUV in the teaser rendering?

What size do you guys think this is? I have a feeling it might be a subcompact (possibly even a replacement of the current EcoSport?)
