My bad on HP, but it is the 380ftlbs that can't be touched by anything, especially for $35K.

And reviews are mostly fine, a bit of a mixed bag with some expecting tight Audi like handling and braking. But that was never what the car was about. The car is a blast to drive nonetheless as more of a planted muscle sedan, and like I said, still holding it's own quite well.

Re: 2018 Ford Expedition Reviews

Here is where the major high volume battle will be with MAX holding its own against Suburban/Yukon XL.

I think we are about to find out if GM SUV owners are as loyal as the truck customers because they really have not had any real reason to change brands until now. But I expect Ford to launch a 'Cadillac, Chevy and GMC' owners incentive once production/inventory levels are up.

Ford Expedition: $51k

Chevy Tahoe: $47k

For Ford, this is a coup that brings the Expedition not only back into relevancy, but all the way to the front of the class. If you can find a better large, traditional SUV, we recommend you buy it. Until then, the Expedition is king.

Current Vehicles:
2009 Ford Flex Limited w/ AWD
Light Ice Blue/White Suede Roof | Med. Lt. Stone Interior | Vista Roof
2018 Ford Mustang GT Convertible
Lightning Blue | Black Top | Black Interior

Re: 2018 Ford Expedition Reviews

Here is a solid 2018 Ford Expedition review from AM:

http://www.automobilemag.com/news/20...w-first-drive/

A worthwhile quote:

In a handy towing demonstration Ford set up for us, the Expedition effortlessly navigated the twists, turns, and grade changes of the Santa Monica Mountains while pulling about 5,500 pounds of trailer. (The same cannot be said for the Suburban on hand for comparative purposes; Chevyís naturally aspirated bruiser struggled on uphill sections and exhibited more aural drama while engine braking downhill.) It could have easily pulled more. The available Heavy Duty Tow Package gives the Expedition a 9,300-pound tow rating, and thereís no reason to doubt its ability to pull that much weight safely and effectively.

Of course, Car and Driver is part (a very important part) of the advertising campaign GM need to make to defend the GM big SUVs market share now that Ford just launch (in the opinion of many analysts) the better big SUVs: Expedition and Navigator.

Is a shame that a car magazine as old as Car and Driver be part of this disgusting play. That’s what American automotive journalism is like, a guild without professionalism, without ethics, without values. A disgust

Yeah.....isn't this the same rag that already published an article written by a GM employee slamming the New Expedition early on? They have lost all credibility.

The rankings make no sense, first the compared the luxury alternatives to their mainatream counterparts, then rated the 18 expy lower than the 17 model due strictly to price. Also, they keep comparing the expy to the gls but not the others and negating the fact that a fully loaded expy is 80k but the mid tier gls is 90k, an 80k gls will have nowhere near the features of a 60k expy. Lastly, why do they pan the expy interior but laud the pick up truck interiors when the expy interior though dated has softer and more luxuriius trimmings. Every review they have of the f150 and super duties is compared favorably to a luxury car as far as the interior is concerned, why is the expy a problem? These journalists lack consistency in regards to their reviews in comparison, and if they are ranking them, they should do a comparison of those models back to back instead of going off of old reviews and initial impressions

Re: 2018 Ford Expedition Reviews

There is absolutely no way I would pick the GM Utes over the Fords, I don't care what C&D has to say but the complete lack of modernity and useful space on the GM Utes is absurd at any price. And as much as I hate the dashboard on the Expedition, at least it has a modern gear selector. I'm not really interested in feeding GM's enormous margins on their complete lack of innovation and effort on those trucks.
