In Europe VW-subbrand Skoda is already using the name "Scout" for its crossover trim levels.

If they ever do sell it in Europe, they'll probably not use the "Scout" name.

What's interesting about this and the Bronco is the fact that these are completely new entries for Ford, which means less canabalization, and more competitor sales impact. Bravo Ford. Offering hybrids for both was brilliant. Bravo again.

If...IF...Ford can prove to have good, durable, truly usable hybrid versions of the various upcoming models, they could make a huge impact in the markets, green and otherwise.

Ditto the upcoming BEVs. I know that Ford has to be aware of the expectations after so many delays and so little real news for so long...but I gotta say, the next couple of years are possibly as important as any in my recollection for the company.

If GM can justify Buick, and if Honda can justify Acura, we can damned well have Mercury back.

If If???

What are you doubting, Ford's lengthy experience with off road prowess or CUV's or hybrids or all the above? I honestly can't think of a single automaker with more total experience in all the above. Ford will deliver, no doubt in my mind.

Yeah, does GM have the same level of experience with full hybrids?

Does Toyota have the same level of experience with off roading and CUV's?

Don't think so. Again, my words were clear and intentional.....total experience.

...yes? GM hit their PHEV tax credit cap. Ford? Not even remotely close. Toyota off-reading? Uhh, the Land Cruiser, the Tacoma/Hilux? Both are about as revered as you can get. Land Cruiser and Hilux are THE choice for durability off-road when your life depends on it.

Yeah...

Yeah...
Volumes? Is that your definition of more engineering experience, or generations of models produced for many more years?
