Re: S650 already in planning for 2020 delivery?
Mustang has had a very up and down history at Ford but it always perseveres and adapts. We are definitely in a Mustang golden age, but Mustang has spent most of it's recent history as a nostalgic relic with no substance. It wasn't until Mustang Globalization and Camaro finally motivated them to make it a truly great modern sports car. I still think they are incentivized to keep it up and it's quite possible CD6 simply didn't meet expectations. Mustang is an impossibly affordable sports car and I imagine that's a hard one to balance...ask GM.
Mustang still has a good modernized platform to work with, they keep breathing new life into it so who knows how far they can take it with enough facelifts and tech upgrades. Ford generally has very long lifecycles for their products anyway, 8-10 years is pretty typical with MCEs in the middle. Remember the Mustang before it was 9 years old (2005-2014).
