True, Ken Block does well with 845HP (lightweight)

Honestly I think worse case Ontario the GT500 will have 675hp. I don't think it needs Hellcat beating power as it's lighter and I'd prefer a stright line/handling balance similar to the GT350, just at a higher scale.

Re: 2018 gt500 spied!!!

I think it'll have more than 675hp due to the fact that the 5.8 made 661hp

Re: 2018 gt500 spied!!!

I would expect a 5.2L boosted, minus voodoo crank (no need for crazy revs).
And I would also expect 700hp.

But that's just me

Or just keep the flat-plane crank and give it twin-turbos like the new Ferraris.

Here's a tuner that made a boosted GT350.
http://www.autoevolution.com/news/fi...on-110731.html
723 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque at the wheels. (Estimated 800hp)

I think a standard GT500 would be fine even with under 700hp (at least they'll have room for upgrades).

I am thinking they will want to top the 707 on the hellcats.

We reached the era when muscle cars/ponycars are aiming for over 700hp, it's starting to get ridiculous. lol
I wonder when they'll end the horsepower wars. Who ever gets to 1000hp first?
I just hope they keep the weight down and make it handle well, that would be impressive.

I said that a while back and was dismissed. Short massive amounts of electronic driver assist mechanisms the amount of power some of these cars put down is completely useless in every way except bragging rights. I said when we were hearing about the GT350 that I don't need more power than the GT500, I just wanted a great all around sports car and thank God Ford delivered. The GT500 and Hellcats are real life caricatures, the GT350 is a real life sports car that can run with the best of the best.

Power numbers are just numbers, acceleration, cornering force and lap times and seat of the pants feel are what put real smiles on peoples faces.
