I'm not so sure about that.

BUT....

It won't be the most expensive Lincoln that a Continental should be, imho. The Continental should be the cherry on top for Lincoln with 4-5 variants (Coupe, Cabriolet Coupe, Sedan, Cabriolet Sedan, Limousine).

I wonder if the Mustang based Lincoln will feature a real name.

Yes, if you consider Mark IX a real name!

That's the best news I've heard about Lincoln in a very long time! He also said that Lincoln has a lot more new product coming, sooner than has been revealed to date. Welcome back "Continental" name!!! Finally some one at Lincoln understand that the MK-whatever name scheme is ridiculous for an american brand... Good news...

Their will keep the Navigator name too... So, Navigator, Continental... Maybe the next MK-X will be named Aviator... The LincStang could be named Zephyr or Versailles.. if this car is a sedan or Mark IX if this car is a coupe ( the most likely)

I'm not suprised that's happening because of the rumors of the next MKS having suicide doors, but idk if that's still on the table.

Re: nextgen MKS? - Burlappcars

It will be interesting to see how they get the names back in the lineup again after 6 or so years of confusion and spending how much $$ to try to get this MK thing to work. Also, someone here mentioned in a different thread (sorry I don't remember who) that it could be easier to start with the renaming as the new models designs are introduced. This way the new design and marketing etc could introduce the new names along with the new designs.

Also an alternative would be to phase in something in the way of MKZ Zephyr or MKX Aviator where the near top line (being we will have Black Label as the top)would have the name attached initially. Then after that first model year, the MK would be dropped and the name which was there prior will stay. Of course these are just some ways of many that could be done with success.

Regarding the next MKS. There needs to be better rear seating room that the current does not offer. The Impala-based XTS offers more rear seating room than the current MKS.

Getting more excited over the thought of suicide doors on the next MKS. Go a step further and show front and rear slider doors instead of the regular swing open type.

^ imho C, Z, X, plus Aviator, Continental, Navigator
are fine
for LincStang I *still* like "Zodiac"
and of course my electrified MKE

I really wonder just how many more & faster anyone thinks Lincoln will bring out new models?
I'm still thinking mostly one AllNew per year
just-plus any major refreshes not counting against that.
My only asap/whenever is the MKE

*IF* it's 'just' a stretched CD4, it'd be hard for them to make me happy I guess
tho
of course I'm still imagining MORE...

&
I *like* your 5 bodystyles, N.R.
just
would be careful about defining (& building) the "Limousine" to go against stretched S-classes, NOT for airport-livery
