Exclamation Re: 245-hp MKZ hot-rod HYBRID?

edit
I don't know if I'm just running into the poorer examples of the Media tonite
(like my deleted diatribe)
but have come across several sites saying the Z gets a 245hp 2.0 HYBRID**
#1 - #2 - #3

I first thought it was just a case of "Media see, Media do",
with a silly mistake getting repeated,
and the main-blogs I checked phrased it to specify that HP for the 2.0T;
but even they omitted saying what HP the Hybrid has . . .

** FYI the existing Hybrid drivetrain used in the MKZ,Fusion,C-Max has an Atkinson-2.0 (no turbo) that makes only 141hp
which when added to their (88kw) 118hp electric motor = just 188hp
the controls prevent it ever making/using the full power the 2 'sides' are capable of separately

& that 245hp rating COULD be achieved with just different programming!
afaik

They are going away from MyLincoln and MyFord Touch altogether. The MKZ and everything from there on out is Sync 3, which is a terrific interface. Yes Fords also get sync 3, but the look is quite different.

Re: 400-hp MKZ is a hot-rod Lincoln

So I created something along the lines of what I believe Lincoln should have done with the rear end for this refresh.

I know the trunk bodyline breaks are off but this was a quickie for the sake of seeing what a wider light would look like. If the rear looked like this, I'd be much more interested in the vehicle.

Much more in line with the MKC too!

The MKZ with the new front design looks really good in a dark color.

Re: 400-hp MKZ is a hot-rod Lincoln

My concern is with the rush to add the new face to the current gen MKZ, what happens to the design on the all-new one in 3 years? Will this new front end evolve(BMW style) and have a new body with the relatively same face or will they have a all-new face again? I personally believe they should've let the production Continental lead with the new face since it's the flagship and held off on the MKZ refresh for another year. I wonder if this was a rush/hack job after the positive reception of the Continental and Lincoln changed it's original plans, it appears to me like this will be the second time a rush/hack job was done on this generation of MKZ, the first one turned out well design wise but not for sales, hopefully the second one leads to more sales.

I think this face may actually be around for a while. I think it'll morph into a wider and skinnier design to tighten up and visually lower designs on future models and redesigns.

That said, I think this redesign was thorough, other than my opinion on a slight tail light adjustment being needed. I also think the face was launched on the appropriate vehicle.

The Continental Concept made such a huge splash. I think it drew a lot more press than Lincoln was expecting. I mean, sh!t, it was the cover shot for an issue of MotorTrend!! I think this opened the door for Lincoln to give the MKZ a little bit of limelight. If the Continental Concept faded into the rest of NAIAS15, I'm sure we'd see a fresh-faced MKZ in NYIAS16 or something. Perhaps they planned on doing Continental in LA15, Navigator Concept in Detroit16, and THEN the MKZ in NYC/China16. Regardless, the Continental Concept drew SO MUCH attention that they were able to justify the line of thinking that "the Continental already did debut the new face."

I'm all for Lincoln debuting new platforms, content, tech, etc... I'm not for Lincoln holding anything back from other Lincoln just so some other Lincoln can get that limelight. If Lincoln is going to succeed then their product better be good enough so as not to require such sleight of hand!
