Re: What do you want to see from Lincoln?

I'd like to see Lincoln increase its drool quotient; i.e.., throw out a few dream designs like GM did with the Cadillac Escala, Ciel, Sixteen & Elmiraj, not to mention Buick's Avenir. Just enough for us to know that Lincoln designers are not just phoning it in (which they appear to be doing so far).

Oh yes, I'd love to see Lincoln become Fords RWD-based brand, at least for their car lineup.

Drool/dream designs are great......except when you don't produce them. Like Cadillac, which hasn't made any of the concepts you mentioned.....or MKR from 2007.

Current Vehicles:
2009 Ford Flex Limited w/ AWD
Light Ice Blue/White Suede Roof | Med. Lt. Stone Interior | Vista Roof
2018 Ford Mustang GT Convertible
Lightning Blue | Black Top | Black Interior

Re: What do you want to see from Lincoln?

I don't think Lincoln can support more large sedans, I would like to see Continental grow a bit in size as I'm sure it will with the next-generation, it's a little small for its class right now. The MKZ should do the same so everything will likely shift up a bit in size and price. That might open up space below MKZ.

Lincoln does not have a great selection of historic nameplates, many of them are just very dated like Zephyr or Versailles which are all very specific meanings and locations outside of Lincoln instead of conveying a more abstract luxury lifestyle customized by Lincoln. I'm not sure where to suggest they look for names but coming up with new names and marketing them is very expensive. I'm not sure how I feel about a return to names just because of the strength of Continental and Navigator which are essentially brands within a brand.

Re: What do you want to see from Lincoln?

I just want modern day versions of the 1977 to 1979 Lincoln Continental and Mark V (or even the 1958 to 1960 Lincolns). The Navigator is OK too. Keep your (expletive deleted) metrosexual electric cars, hybrid motors, MK crossovers, Starstangs, 3 series competitors, etc.

Re: What do you want to see from Lincoln?

By 2020, I would like to see....

Sedans:
Smaller MKZ, leave it AWD/FWD
Update Continental to new RWD/AWD
New mid-large RWD only V8 coupe/convertible
New RWD/AWD V8 large sedan

CUV/SUV:
MKC is fine the way it is
MKX is fine the way it is
New RWD/AWD Aviator
Navigator

Electrification for all.

That would be good for 16-18K monthly units

Re: What do you want to see from Lincoln?

Ideal Lineup

MKA (Subcompact Crossover)
MKC
MKX
Aviator
Navigator

MKZ
Continental

Wishlist:
High Performance luxury EV drivetrains, likely an essential to compete in the luxury car market next decade. I hope Ford is finally moving in this direction in some fashion. Right now their EVs are about slow efficiency instead of abundant instant torque. Perhaps the next EV Mustang will open that door.

Re: What do you want to see from Lincoln?

Ideal Lineup:

CUVs + Navigator:
GLA like tall hatch
MKC with 3.0T and Torque vectoring performance version!
MKX with 3.0T and Torque vectoring performance version!
Aviator RWD D6 based NOT CD4!
Navigator

All cars are RWD based with AWD optional:
S650 based 3 Series sized sedan/coupe (top engine 3.5T)
D6 based 6 Series sized sedan. (top engine Coyote based)
D6 based Mark IX coupe and convertible. (top engine Coyote based)
D6 based Continental with LWB option. (top engine Coyote based)

I have no interest in crossover coupes, none, but if the market is there go for it.
All vehicles have names, no more alpha numeric.

This ignores the electric element that I would expect will be included in many if not all of the above and yet offer additional electric only models.

Re: What do you want to see from Lincoln?

I am torn on a compact luxury car, because although it adds plenty of volume, I don't feel it pushes the luxury brand upward in the slightest, in fact, possibly the other direction. Remember the min Jag?

Arrow Re: What do you want to see from Lincoln?

I feel like I've created so many of these 'ideal lineups' but here's another:

Sedans

Lincoln Z (Formerly MKZ, Lincstang derived)(RWD/AWD) - I kind of like the single letter, sounds youthful and sporty
Lincoln Continental (RWD/AWD)
Lincoln Town Car (RWD/AWD

SUV's

Lincoln C (MKC) (FWD/AWD)
Lincoln Aviator (MKX) (RWD/AWD)
Lincoln Navigator (RWD/AWD)

Coupes

Lincoln Z Coupe (Lincstang derived) (RWD)

Labels

Black Label (Luxury)
All black label vehicles (except Navigator) should receive the 3.0 with 400 hp/400 lb-tq.

Grey Label (Sport)
All grey label vehicles (except Navigator) should get a tuned 3.0 with 500 hp/500 lb-tq complete with custom sport appearance packages for the interior and exterior trim.

Gold Label (Ultra Luxury)
Will compete with the Bently's and Maybach's. Only available on the Navigator, Aviator, Continental, and the Town Car, ordered on demand only with more bespoke options than black label. Includes home delivery and lifetime in home detailing. (Only available at dedicated Lincoln dealerships.)

So you want to retain the current size and price gap between the MKX and Navigator?
