Re: Lincstang: the Beginning?

The irony of ripping off the Bentley 10 Speed 6 is that the 10 Speed 6 is ripping off Aston Martin in everything but the face of the car, and Ford already borrowed that for Ford! So basically, what we would have is Ford and Lincoln dividing Aston Martin styling between them!!

Am I identifying the emblems correctly on the lower front fenders as a Cobra wrapped around a Lincoln Star?

I would delete the extra red Lincoln emblem on the top of the nose as it is redundant.

Re: Lincstang: the Beginning?

Okay now the back... he he he

I think the taillamps are weak and I am not sold on it's oval shapes. Some of the rear panel contour mimicks the new Mustang's how it is angled in and tucked under the rear edge of the boot lip.

I suppose the Lincoln version is obvious with the LED strip stretching all the way across. Is it wrong though that still want some sort of vestigial reference to the Mark Series spare tire hump without it being as literal? I can see the ducktail of the bootlid having some sort of ellipse in the center, and maybe perhaps the LED strip could curve up with it as opposed to straight accross?

I wish I was good at photoshopping as some people are. I used to try my hand at it using MS Paint but I never advanced beyond that.

Re: Lincstang: the Beginning?

any Porsche'philes out there?

there's a thread @ GMI by GuionM which likens the new Camaro to feeling like a Porsche
whereas

...NO, when I sit behind the wheel of a Mustang GT, I DON'T think of a Porsche. The dash looks nothing like a Porsche, the steering wheel looks nothing like a Porsche, the feel when you look out of it doesn't remind you of a Porsche, yet the Camaro does.... and when we're talking about 0-60 runs of 4 seconds or less, you're **** straight it's going to be much closer to being an American Porsche than the Mustang is. Whether you think that's a bad thing or not depends on how you take it or what glasses you're looking through. It's either a triumph for GM and a high complement, or it's criticism for walking away from the successful pony car formula once again...
Now I've NEVER driven a Porsche nor been a passenger in one but Once
tho
as I've pondered future (Constellation/Panamera) as well as current Lincolns (X,Cayenne) having a sprinkling of Porscheness;
I wonder if a LincStang could have SOME of the difference that guionM is attributing to the Camaro (with MUCH More Lux of course)-(actually easier for me see that as (I imagine) an Astonish Martinism....)

edit: 2nd thread @ GMI - less emphatic

Re: Lincstang: the Beginning?

No matter what - Porsche-like handling or not - IMHO any LincStang would have to be 4-door if only to stop cross-shoppers from comparing it to a lower price-point Ford Mustang.

My mantra for Lincoln is still Product Differentiation.

LincStang: targeting THE Highest Volume Luxury segment

(tho I HATE that Bloomberg "editorial"+STOOPID-talking-heads video)

But I'm fixated on LincStang(s) before variants of existing models...
...possibly VariantING the LS first! adding a Touring to the sportsedan and coupecabrio

today's ponderings:
Could 'LS' (on a nextgen sport-platform) best target the XE, Tesla III and stand up to the usual suspects with just:
- a Plug-In &
- BEV
for starters or
+ only a 3.0EB (with anti-slip electrics up front)
whether a smaller v8 (EB?) ever happens or not?
