Spy Shots: 2008 Saab 9-3 Convertible

Just in time to celebrate Saabs 60 year anniversary this summer, the 9-3 gets a new face. After having already caught photos of a Saab 9-3 station wagon prototype, here are new photos showing that the 9-3 convertible will also get a restyling. The current convertible has been on the market since 2003.

Saab's

I have always liked Saabs, though I am dissapointed that GM has not been as aggressive with the company as Ford has been with Volvo. They have neglected all the models, in favor of Cadillac.

9-5 is trying to sell Chrome now.. and the 9-3 is still last generation getting an MCE...
I wonder when GM will give Saab money to do something..

Ahh, how about NEVER! I doubt that GM will be willing to empty its coffers for the sake of Saab (I know its rather shameful) but I guess the sales havent been very convincing lately. Saab will really need to revamp itself or otherwise, it would be facing a slow and agonizing death.

You could have been talking about Ford and Jaguar with this.

Mercury is alive and well. It's called Lincoln.

Saab seems to be behind the times with the rag top. Cars in its segment (real 4 seats convertibles) all have retractable hardtops at least as an option. Retractable HTs can be found today in BMW 3 series, Volco C70 and even the Chrysler Sebring (apparently the next gen Mercedes CLK convertible)

Not really, Ford can be accused of mismanagement with Jaguar and of wanting to chew more than they could swallow but not of not giving them any money. If anything Jaguar with its expansion plan turned into a money pit.
