Re: All new Kia Optima

At first, I thought this new Optima looked a little awkward. The more I look at it, the more it is starting to grow on me. I think it has a distinctive look that sets it apart from the rest of the mainstream midsize sedan segment.

One thing that Hyundai/Kia is getting good at is giving their platform mates completely differentiated designs. I'm hoping FoMoCo follows suit with some of their future Ford, Mercury, and Lincoln designs, especially in the compact and midsize segments. FoMoCo had done a good job of differentiating their fullsize platform mates between Ford and Lincoln; I just hope that this pattern continues with the next gen products in the sub-fullsize classes.

have you tried a regular one, A-O-N? (are they out yet?)
&or
have you tried a Forte? I haven't driven one yet but was disappointed in the general "feel" at an autoshow...

...I like a lot of the Optima's styling from pix but would *LOVE* to make some relatively minor changes (tho more than the average customizer could do with aftermarket stuff)

Re: All new Kia Optima

Well I think the car looks good on the outside and inside. The steering wheel in my opinion has a lot of buttons on it. I think it reminds me of a Toyota Camry with a Kia back and front end slapped on it. I am sure I will be seeing it soon since my room mate works for Kia and the dealership is literally a stones throw away from my place.

In regards to the Forte, its not that bad, I think it is a good budget friendly sports car if you get the Koupe, and its got a lot of Honda Civic in it for me. My brother drove it and thought it was nice and I thought he was actually going to buy it. I just hope he waits for the 2012 Focus or waits to drive my Fiesta so I can get him back in a Ford...OMG.

Forte is too small. I just really like the looks of this Optima. I got to sit in one at an Autoshow and for the price point it will be at it will be hard to beat. I was very impressed in person.

Re: All new Kia Optima

It looks good on paper, but seriously, is it better than the Milan or Regal? or Fusion SE/ or the Malibu LTZ, or Chrysler 300 SRT, man, there are just soo many better American options, I drove last Generation Sonata back to back with a Fusion and a Malibu, the Sonata felt flimsy while the American Products are really refined.. in their V6 form, they do not win the comparisons aganist the Camry for being poorly executed.
