I think it looks pretty good. VW finally nailed down the design language that they've been working with for a while.

Has a bit of a 1st-gen Ford Edge look to it.

So both VW and Audi are moving from SUV like stance for their CUVs to a more tall hatch stance. The CUV was the replacement for the in most garages for the sedan, now we're seeing the CUV as we know it replaced by something that sits between the sedan and the original CUV style. Is it possible that in time we'll look back at the MKT and see it as being ahead of it's time?

Sorry just had to adjust that.

Sides and rear end execution looks good IMO, but the generic front face, and usual (nothing new/boring) interior designs are expected.

...the Tiguan also showcases Volkswagenís attempts to rectify itís biggest weakness its relatively small size. While itís compact oriented design was loved in Europe, it proved to be a big handicap on U.S. soil where itís predecessor was outclassed by many rivals in its segment. This forced the Tiguan to compete with smaller SUVs that were often lighter and had a lower price point. For 2017, Volkswagen aims to end this trend by offering two different seating configurations for the first time ever. Buyers can choose from either two or three row variants that will allow the Tiguan to be more of a contender in its segment especially in passenger space. It is currently unknown if Volkswagen will take a page out of Hyundaiís playbook and market both the standard model and the CC under one model name (similar to the Santa Fe and the Santa Fe Sport.)...
