Re: Nov'16 Sales Ford +4.6%, Lincoln +19.1%

Continental seems to also be giving the other 'newer' products a nice sales boost, by driving more traffic into Lincoln dealerships. With the New Navigator set for a launch late 2017(January NIAS), it seems customers are waiting it out. Then again, I wonder how many old Navigator customers are downsizing to the newer MKX.

Re: Nov'16 Sales Ford +4.6%, Lincoln +19.1%

Sales for the Lincoln luxury brand were driven by its new Continental flagship sedan, which helped Lincoln car sales jump 42 percent. The Continental outsold crosstown rival General Motorsí Cadillac CT6 by 250 vehicles.

LaNeve said Continental stayed on dealer lots for just 13 days last month, and the top two trim levels made up 50 percent of sales.

"... the top two trim levels made up 50 percent of sales"

Top two. Wonder if they mean Reserve and Black Label.

Yeah, 10k or 11k are almost a guarantee to me. 12k would be icing on the cake.

Here's the tallies of sales numbers through these November numbers. Lincoln is definitely making great progress.....there were only 2 months last year in the 9k range.....this year has 7 months in that range!

Note: If it isn't obvious on the chart, 4K represents any value 4,000-4,999; 5K represents anything 5,000-5,999, etc. etc.

Re: Nov'16 Sales Ford +4.6%, Lincoln +19.1%

So it looks like Lincoln will hit 110K sales this year...any predictions for 2017?

I think the Aviator will likely pull in about 1,500-1.750 a month, but that will not be in the showrooms next year.
Navigator sales will slow until the new one is released (when was that again?

I will predict about 120K next year if the economy is stable to slightly lower, but maybe 125K if it is strong.

I'd say your predictions are realistic.

Navigator likely won't go on sale until late in the year next year (much like Continental), but I wouldn't be surprised to see its numbers be surprisingly high pushing Lincoln pretty far at the end of the year. I wouldn't be surprised to see it getting close to MKC/MKX volume with it being the first all new Navigator in decades.

Continental is unique in this market as it brings back memories of grand touring luxury sedans w a beautiful interior focused on luxury. It's doing well so far and I hope that it continues to do so. But comparing it to ct6, is just a disservice to continental. It stands on its own merit no matter how well any of it's competitors perform in the marketplace.
For the record, this exact argument is what you preach against when people say Buick and Lincoln don't compete. "Different price point, different drivetrains, the Buicks are cheaper, etc., but the BUYERS will cross shop and therefore they're competitors" is what you say.

You cannot sit here and tell us the Continental doesn't compete with the CT6 when you tell us Buick competes with Lincoln. Even so, the Continental and CT6 are way closer of competitors than Buick v Lincoln. Which is it, @Samesun? Is it the goals the brand has for the vehicle or the customer's shopping habits?

4893 - Camaro
6196 - Mustang

Nice, >1300 units over the all-new Camaro. Good to have Mustang back on top, even before the refresh.

Re: Nov'16 Sales Ford +4.6%, Lincoln +19.1%

MKZ alone = ~70% of the sales #s as ATS +CTS +CT6. Obviously this is a pretty pointless metric, but dayumm did that refresh help or what?
