A Sexier Lincoln? Coupes and Convertibles

Ford has been reborn; Time for lincoln...

Why isn't Lincoln selling like as well as other luxury brands? It doesn't have the sex appeal ( i think)

Lincoln needs some coupes in its line up; coupes and droptops.

So why doesn't Lincoln have any coupes?

MB has 4 (SL, SLK, CL, E-couple) ....BMW has 2 (3 and 6 series)....Cadillac has 2 ...Audi has 3

Lincoln has.....None. NONE?!

I mean here's the deal, Lincoln seems to be aimed at older people or the "mature crowd" if we wanna be more politically correct. Having a couple of hot cars like Coupes/Droptops, even if they don't sell well, will ATTRACT PEOPLE TOWARDS THE WHOLE BRAND. With that said, after a few years, those people who were attracted to the 2-door cars grow older and want something more family oriented, thats when they go for the current line-up ( the cars and SUVs)

Also the Navigator needs to be updated; the current one is hideous from the outside (but gorgeous from the inside). Plus I hope they don't make it smaller (mercedes GL size or european suv size in general) and I hope they plan on keeping it Body on Frame but I doubt that will happen.

Anyone agree? disagree? comments?

Lincoln Just like Mercury have been starving for investment. Even the New Lincolns are suffering from parts bin, in the year 2011, Ford cannot bother to redesign some ford interface parts to further differentiate Lincolns from Fords.
Further, a fully loaded Ford is almost as good as a Lincoln, take the MKS Vs. the SHO...

A Mustang cannot carry Lincolns water.

Re: A Sexier Lincoln? Coupes and Convertibles

I agree almost entirely, Amer333
but
imho the biggest sales improvement will have to wait for the nextgen MKZ & the MKG/KuGa
AND maybe/hopefully some GRwdP cars
but
all of those are upto a couple years away afaik

that's why I speculated that the soonest image changer for Lincoln COULD be the MKfoCus/Lincoln-ette
which (as I said HERE)
MIGHT work as a MUCH sportier model, kinda like a 4-seat version of

particularly
since there's the current euro-Focus-Cabrio & a quasi-insider has hinted that the nextgen RS-Focus could come to the U.S. (not just an ST) and
maybe it could be a Lincoln since it'd have to have a Lincolnesque pricetag
also
since I don't believe a Lincoln C-car will get that many takers simply on size (even with unprecedented luxury)
adding the "sport-quotient" to this/these model(s) would give it/them a real chance.

At least we'll find out soon (afaik) the C-car should make its appearance in a little over a month (Sept) at the end of Lincoln's summer sale promotion.
