SIA Flashback – Lincoln Show Cars Through the Years
- SIA Flashback, Hemmings

Thanks to George Barris, when it comes to Lincoln show cars, everybody knows about the Futura. But, quick, can you name another one off the top of your head? Unless you’re a die-hard fan of the marque, probably not, but thanks to Thomas E. Bonsall’s article on Lincoln show cars in SIA #106, August 1988, now you can confidently rattle off the names of several Lincoln show cars the next time we hit you with that pop quiz question.

Thanks for the post 2b2!
That Vignale does not look Lincoln enough, in fact it looks way to bland to be a Lincoln at all, although you can see where the first generation Mark VIII got its headlights.

Current Car: 2013 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid Reserve Ice Storm 2.0h CVT
Previous Cars
2008 Ford Focus SE Sedan White 2.0L Duratec I4 4 Speed Automatic
2004 Lincoln LS V6 Luxury Cashmere Tri-Coat 3.0L Duratec V6 5 Speed Automatic with SST

I think this would make a great Lincoln with a different grill of course. If the picture doesn't open then here is the link which has several photos.

YvW, Andrew
& I agree for the present day
but back then there was a big Euro space-race-2 minimalism that I rather liked...
(still do: ItalDesign Giugiaro Quaranta Concept)
...but yeah, woulda needed more grille & I'm glad they didn't go there -- cuz they probably would've fixated on it

&
not to re-create Mission: Lincoln here...

the Metropolis** Concept? (Link to Autoblog's photo)&(NetCarShow)

and in addition to much of the "DS"/Godess stuff they're doing,
there's the GQ Concept too
&
I've had a 'thing' for Peugeot's 908 RC Concept (2006!!)
< never 'finished'

** doesn't that even-just sound RIGHT!?!...imho much better than Metropolitan

Thanks 2b2 I also agree that the Peugeot 908 RC Concept is a beautiful automobile. I still favor the Metropolis with it's suicide doors and retro-Continental shape. Wonderful IMHO. I would purchase this car ~ anyone else?

Yea that would make a good Lincoln, I think it needs a subtle spare tire hump on the back
