Re: Ford May 2018 Sales

I hate the slide in sales for the Z and Conti, but the Navigator is killing it right now. Also whats the supply looking like right now for the Ecosport? I expected sales to be a little higher.

Re: Ford May 2018 Sales

It does seem like MKC and MKX have stabilized after sizable early drops (likely due to early fleet sales timing last year, if lowering fleet sales as they said is indeed the reason for lower numbers this year). MKT is MKT, and not worth discussing.

It's unfortunate to see MKZ and Conti down so much, but it's not surprising given the sedan market.

Current Vehicles:
2009 Ford Flex Limited w/ AWD
Light Ice Blue/White Suede Roof | Med. Lt. Stone Interior | Vista Roof
2018 Ford Mustang GT Convertible
Lightning Blue | Black Top | Black Interior

Re: Ford May 2018 Sales

Interesting. At 9490 Tesla with just 3 models almost outsold Lincoln(9,755) for May and just 7k units from outselling Lincoln for the year. Which should happen by the end of 3rd quarter. At 6,250 the Model 3 alone outsold any Lincoln model by over 2 to 1.

Don't remember Lincoln stating that they were offering an EV anytime this decade.

Re: Ford May 2018 Sales

Record Level At $523 A Month In The United States
BY Michael Gauthier | June 1, 2018

"Consumers continue to purchase crossovers at an impressive rate and this has helped to drive the average cost of new vehicles to record levels.

According to the latest State of the Automotive Finance Market Report by Experian, the average new vehicle loan has climbed $921 to hit a record of $31,455. This, in turn, pushed the average monthly new vehicle loan payment up $15 to a record of $523.

In order to cope with the higher payments, American consumers are opting for longer and longer loan terms as the average new vehicle loan for the first quarter of 2018 was slightly more than 69 months (5.75 years). The most common loans were for 72 months (6 years) but there were an increasing number of loans lasting 85 to 96 months (7 to 8 years)."

It won't be long before the crossover/SUV bubble pops as consumers rack up massive auto loan debt by being overcharged my manufacturers for their higher riding 'cars'. Do manufacturers really think this is sustainable???.
