I think the Spare-less EcoSport deserves its own thread actually, ha! Nicely done conversion. Hopefully the next-gen EcoSport will be developed for the US. This is a segment Ford seems to be sitting out on in the US while everybody swoops in.

They look like they are mpg testing. Notice the black tape all over the car. In other countries they are 'allowed' to tape up the gaps and seams on the car for better aerodynamics and a better mpg rating.

This car looks a bit like a Prius c and a baby C-MAX. I wonder if it will make it to the states as part of the C-MAX hybrid family.

It really is a much cleaner look without the big tire. That's the design that should come to the US.

That's not black tape, the dark color is the paint color. The camo doesn't cover the surface completely, so the edges on the panel gaps are uncovered.
Here's a close up shot of another Ka.

I doubt it, the Ka has shorter overhangs than a Fiesta, we can assume this also means it has less cargo space, that's not good if you need to carry extra batteries.

By the way, the "C" in C-Max is because it's a Focus-based C-segment tall/hatch/MPV, Ford's B-segment Fiesta-based tall hatch/MPV is called B-Max. I doubt they'd use the C-Max name on a (sub/lower) B-segment model.

The B-segment Fiesta-based B-Max.

Could a B-Max Hybrid make it to the U.S. to sit below the C-Max. I think its cute and would get exceptional mpg. I also like the convenience of no B pillar.

LOL.....it's tape. The car is finished. They are allowed to tape everywhere there is a seam. There was a big issue about this in the UK as it helps the mpg quite a bit. Just think about it....why would they need to paint a perfect strip around every gap on the car as camo when it's not covering anything??

I didn't mean actually name it Baby C-MAX...LOL But it can become a member of the MAX family of hybrid vehicles. It's a better fit in the US than the B-MAX with the sliding doors that scream mini-van. It's more of a hatchback like the Prius c, and about the same size also. And since it's a new build, Ford would have ensured space under the back seats for the battery so there is no intrusion into the cabin space.

If you look closely the color of what you think is tape is the same color as the door handles. The Ka with red door handles has red lines, the Ka with dark red door handles has dark red lines. If that was tape, Ford did a good job finding tape that matches the paint color of the car (exposed door handles).

The Ka is built on the same basic platform as the Fiesta (obviously to cut down on development costs, this model slots below the Fiesta), the platform layout is most likely identical to the Fiesta (perhaps even sharing the same fuel tank and fuel tank location), I doubt they'd find more space for a battery on a car that was cut down shorter.
So you have an idea of what i'm saying, the Ka might have a similar wheelbase as the Fiesta, but the overhangs are shorter, this is much more obvious at the back.
