Spied: Ford Freshens Up 2017 Fusion
Mondeo Facelift Could Follow
Is it already time for the North American Ford Fusion and the global Mondeo to receive a facelift?
It will be in about 12 months from now for the Fusion, which has been on the market since 2012 as a 2013MY. For the European model, which is essentially the same car with different settings and engine options – primarily, the availability of diesels, we will likely have to wait a bit longer as it went on sale with a significant delay late last year, so Ford may roll over the update to 2017.
Either way, the styling revisions are expected to be the same between the two differently named, but otherwise, mostly identical Ford models.
The placement of the camouflage on this 2017MY tester spotted in the USA points to a revised front end with changes to the headlamps, grille and bumper, and a tweaked tail with different lights and a reworked bumper.
We should see some styling and technology updates inside as well, possibly focusing on the infotainment system and equipment offerings.
Ford has stayed up to date with the Fusion's powertrains, but it may bring some revisions to improve their efficiency.
