Re: Fomoco China May'17: Lincoln UP 73%, YTD +100%

Wait...Continental has 3,362 sales YTD with just about 100 dealerships in China and 5,273 in NA with about 900 dealerships.

I wonder what the 'Other 46' vehicles are that were imported. I know that Ford is testing the C-Max Energi and possibly the Transit plug-in as they are in London. But what else could it be?

Re: Fomoco China June'17

Interesting, EcoSport is not a big seller in China and sales have dropped significantly since last year.

Explorer is being imported from the US or Russia? Are they still making Explorer in Russia?

Fomoco China 2017: Lincoln UP 73%, YTD +100%...

didn't find a current China-Sales thread so
here's a run-down I didn't know from
bzcat @ BON
BMW and Mercedes export more American build cars to China. But Ford is the most active exporter to China from the Big 3. Ford currently offers Explorer, Mustang, MKC, MKZ, and MKX in China as regular sales models. MKX is imported from Canada but the rest come from US plants. Ford also offers F150 Raptor and Navigator on special order. Part of the reason is the fact that Ford doesn't have as much production capacity in China as GM for example... it doesn't have the capacity to offer a full line of a second brand of locally assembled vehicles since it had to give away roughly 40% of the capacity to Mazda during the divorce. Prior to the Mazda divorce, the Mazda brand was effectively controlled by Ford in China and so it was Ford's second brand there (e.g. think Hyundai/Kia, Chevy/Buick, SAIC VW/FAW VW, GAIC Honda/Dongfeng Honda, Pegueot/Citroen etc, and Ford/Mazda). So that set Ford back at least 5 years in terms of where it would have been in China.

GM offers Camaro, Colorado, Silverado, and Escalade as special order models in China. There are no regular sales GM model from the US or Canada, mainly because it has the capacity to carry 5 full line of locally assembled vehicles: Wuling, Baojun, Chevy, Buick, and Cadillac.

My message to Ford Motor Company....
Asia is more than just China. Just reminding you because you're letting your competitors step all over you.
Please act quickly.
