Heritage Squared: 1954 Lincoln Wins in Mexico
1954 Lincoln Capri, last survivor of the Lincolns that won the Carerra Panamericana in 1952, 1953, 1954, is on the road again.
It appeared in August at the Lincoln Homecoming in Hickory Corners, MI (Gilmore Museum) courtesy of the Lincoln Motorcar Foundation and Road Race Lincoln Register.
And it is now at REVS Institute (Collier Auto Museum) in Naples Florida, where it will be exhibited in juxtaposition with the REVS 1953 Porsche 550 which ran in the 1953 Carrera.
Those races, this car and a group of American Indy and Nascar drivers essentially gave re-birth to Ford Racing, which culminated in the LeMans wins in the 60's.
