Thanks 2b2! However, I forgot that 2008 was the last year for the GS trim on the Grand Marquis, which is what I was really looking for. If you could upload the 2008 order guide (if you have it), that would be great!

Right, it's all about the residuals now. I'm hoping that they don't drop the CUV residuals much or at all. If they do though, I'm completely prepared to lease a 2010 AWD Fusion or Milan. I'm betting that the Edge and Flex residuals will remain attractive though.

I definitely will not! Especially because the Explorer is a good bit cheaper these days than an Edge or the like when comparably equipped.

I actually like the Flex the most so it's all going to come down to which has the better lease program at the time (next Spring). I'm even considering an F-150 but I have a feeling pickups and BOF SUV lease programs are going to be very unattractive for the foreseeable future and I'm not buying anymore. When we leased our '06 Explorer the residual value was 52% or 54% and there's no way the dealer will get that back when we trade it in so I'm guessing there will be market adjustments very soon. A news article just came out the other day stating the same thing but so far it looks like only GM and Chrysler have done anything along those lines. Ford's current lease programs expire 9/2 IIRC so we'll see what they do after that.

Re: OrderGuides: F-M-L 2009

I'm not trying to start a war with you LMdealer, trust me. I'm just looking for an answer to my question about the incresed FE on the updated order guide.

Ford's newly released '09 model overviews on their media site make no mention of increased Explorer/Sport Trac/Mountaineer FE so maybe it was a typo. Our '06 was originally rated at 15 city and 20 highway IIRC and fell to 13/19 with the new testing method. I'm wondering if they posted the numbers from the old method by mistake in those newer guides. Or if they are from the wrong vehicle entirely. I noticed that they show a pic of the Escape navigation unit in the 2009 Explorer pictures in the media guide.

Also the Mountaineer doesn't show an increase in fuel economy, and being that they come down the same assembly line I doubt that there would be a difference in powertrains from Ford to Mercury. If you like the Explorer better than the Edge, buy it. In my real world experience you will see a 5-7 MPG difference between Explorer/Mountaineer and Edge/MKX.
I get 15 mpg in the city and just under 23 on the highway in our '06 Explorer so I doubt I will see that difference in the Edge which is only rated 2 mpg higher than the Explorer V6 for city and 3 for highway. Both 4WD, and both with a V6.

If that updated order guide is right then there is only a 1 mpg difference both ways between the 4WD models. Only this time the Explorer being compared is the V8 model.

I've attached the updated guides below.

Is the 09 E-Series Van order guide available? I see one for the wagon, but not the van.
