Yep!

Short-sighted decision? I don't know but it can't be that expensive to develop a Raptor if it's going to be built in the U.S. They cited lack of demand but how can they know demand when there hasn't been supply? And the claim that the availability of a Ranger Raptor will cannibalize F-150 Raptor sales just doesn't hold water.

I think that eventually a Ranger Raptor will be built for the U.S. market but only after a Ford-style delay and after they come to realize that people really want it. IMO, they should put the Raptor go parts on but with most of the Lariat's luxo pieces removed; in other words, modify the base model into a Raptor, not the Lariat.

Seeing the Ford interest for the SUV line up and give it a sporty options, the next logical step in this war is the Expedition Raptor. Imagine a super sport and off road capable version of the short wheel base big SUV, with wider body, higher suspension, bigger wheels, rugged front and rear end , the option of 5 seats only, more powerful engine... Is a secure ticket to succes.

...Development of the Ranger Raptor began three years ago with a substantial amount of work performed in Australia, where the Broadmeadows-based design team penned some of its lines, influenced from the F-150 version, and the engineering team performed extensive development at Ford’s You Yangs testing grounds.

Final vehicle testing also took place around Alice Springs as well as Borrego Springs in California.

Introducing the smaller Raptor to the States shouldn’t be a challenge with the Ranger line-up already available there, but it could be sometime until it joins the stable.

“We haven’t said anything about availability in the US, our first priority is to get a Raptor available to everyone on the planet earth. So Americans already have an F-150 Raptor, we’ve got to spread Raptors to the rest of the planet.”
Ford is unveiling several 2018 models in my country, the first confirmed to appear at the Manila International Auto Show is the aluminum Expedition. Hope they'd also include the Ranger Raptor and 2018 Mustang, want to see those in the metal too (other models to be launched in the first half of 2018 here are the refreshed EcoSport, refreshed Ranger, and refreshed Everest).
I know Ford always gets the largest Auto Show floor space (do they do this everywhere?)

Just shows that people most likely to buy trucks are least likely to take polls!

@jpd80 and @Falc'man don't forget the T6 has already fit a 3.2l I5 turbodiesel. A 2.7TT shouldn't be too too difficult.
