I think it's really just form following function. The function of a large grill is to pass a lot of air for lots of cooling demands in hipo engines. Obviously.

The shape of the combined upper and lower grille of the new GT500 is similar to the one on the '68 GT500KR.
It's not angular, but I see a lot of this in the GT500 also!

Hardly a coincidence, they literally plucked it from the Godfather of muscle pony cars.

GTR is the one who stole it, if anything.

I really want to see it in the metal, and I'll be jonesing to know how it actually drives...but I see Nissan GTR in the nose, and I'm hoping that's NOT the case when seeing the car in person.
