the 3rd row is best in class but I hope the next Navi has to get a better first row (I saw in the MT article that the first row is not that good at least in the SWB), not sure how good is the 2nd row.

How could you misunderstand me? Possibly your lack of comprehension at times? Once again you have worked yourself up over a simple question.

I fully understand about cold engine/exhaust components and water vapor emission. I also understand how relative humidity can contribute to the visibility of the water vapor.

At around the 7:00 mark, he guns it and accelerates off down the road and there is what looks like smoke blowing out of the tailpipe for quite a good distance down the road. If this guy knows anything about cars, as I hope he would as an automotive journalist, he would know not to gun a cold engine. Also, there is no proof that the engine and exhaust system was cold at the time he revved it. As for water vapor, I would have thought that possible if it were cooler, but it looks too warm outside for that (considering their attire). But if it makes you feel better to think that is just water vapor, well you just go on ahead and think that. I think otherwise. I believe a distinct lack of talent in their engine team is a more likely cause of the smoking.

You could have saved yourself a lot of trouble (and obvious emotional anguish) but simply stating "I don't know".

After doing a bit of research, it appears that these direct injected turbo engines tend to run a little rich. As a result, they can blow some smoke upon hard acceleration. Nothing is wrong with the engine, it is simply how they are engineered. Was that so hard 'nut?

Ahhh, I see...so when you said this just a few posts ago:

...you were not suggesting the same for the Navi, and certainly not implying it. Gee whiz, I don't know HOW I misunderstood you.

And regarding the WHITE plume you saw, it is very common for water vapor to condense or convert back to steam after startup, as the engine heat boils it off in just a few moments. If I recall, he had just started the engine and revved it. Makes sense, no?
