The new Ford Edge repeated it's Good performance in the Moderate Overlap test and scored an Acceptable rating in the Small Overlap test which is the first time the Edge is being tested in this category. Overall the Edge once again earned "Top Safety Pick" but failed to earn "Top Safety Pick +" since it lacks active crash avoidance with braking.

Unfortunately it looks like Ford is not actively engineering to meet the Small Overlap benchmark even in its newer vehicles.

The Murano does score Good in Small Overlap and with crash mitigation technology for a full + rating.

MKX may score better since it does have active btakking although the Small Overlap test is likely the same which would still qualify it for Top Safety Pick +.
