To ensure that you don’t miss a moment of the events, we’ve put together a guide to the must-see rare automobiles, the hautest soirées, and the most thrilling auctions. Get ready to shift into high gear because here is everything you need to know about the coveted affair.

The Concours d’Elegance, an experience the Wall Street Journal calls “the world’s best annual display of historic and beautiful cars,” has a long history, beginning in 1950...

...During Pebble Beach Car Week, the world’s top automakers debut their latest concept cars. Among the cars on display this year are new offerings from Cadillac, Ford, Infiniti, Lamborghini, and Mercedes. Buick Avenir Flagship Sedan, the Hyundai HCD 16 Coupe, the Infiniti Q60, the McLaren 570s, and the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider are a few that have debuted elsewhere but are equally compelling. I see Cadillac and Ford mentioned, but I don't see Lincoln. Would think this would be the best showcase for the production 2018 Navigator. But this time it looks like it's all about the Ford GT.

This show is a good opportunity for Lincoln to show it's newest products to their target audience. Hopefully there is a Continental Black Label there also.

But what color....
maroonish with tan-cocoa interior, please.

The 30 Cars Expected to Sell for the Most Money at the 2016 Pebble Beach Auctions
Some of these will be bargains. Multi-million dollar bargains.
Road&Track

By Alexander Stoklosa - July 31, 2016

$10,000,000–$14,000,000
An original works entry to the 1932 Mille Miglia, this Bugatti is claimed to be mostly original (it was restored in 2013) and to have numbers-matching components. Given the fact that new Bugattis today start at $2.5 million, spending $10 million on one of these surely seems worth it to one-up commonplace-by-comparison Veyrons and Chirons.
Photo by Mathieu Heurault / Gooding & Co. / original story Car and Driver

$2,500,000–$3,000,000
Originally fitted with a four-passenger "tourer" body, this Bentley 8-Litre was rebodied with Le Mans–style Vanden Plas bodywork in 1938. The Bentley flitted among a number of owners until it was purchased in 1968 by one of the owners of the Ferrari 500 Superfast that's also on this list of utmost expensive cars. That owner eventually sold the car 45 years later, but, you know, small world.

$20,000,000–$25,000,000
This rare Alfa was fully restored only recently from a rolling chassis—which had been shortened in length and modified to fit a Corvette V-8 at some point early in its life in Brazil—and a Touring Spider body that had been discarded in the 1950s by a team in Argentina that may have been working with the very same Alfa 8C 2900B some years later. The potentially matching set was reunited in the late 1990s, the frame lengthened to its original dimension, and a dual-supercharged four-cylinder engine sourced and fitted. The story is almost too improbable to believe, but it's a good tale, and this is going to be an expensive car.

$3,000,000–$4,000,000
This is one of three examples, and it was displayed at the 1954 New York auto show. It sports stunning Anglo-Italian Bertone bodywork. It's not rocket science that this Aston is expected to bring big money. This DB2/4 Spider even has relevant Pebble Beach provenance: It won a class award at the Concours d'Elegance in 2007.

Our week-long, annual vintage car festival, Hot August Nights, is wrapping up tomorrow.
This morning, I saw the most exquisite car ever-in-my-experience...
a 1942 Lincoln Continental convertible ...so refined!...darkest-red ("brandywine") metallic with a subdued mid-red cloth top which had been lowered 3"
the TLs were upright-blade lenses with contemporary Star-logo and the entire front end is custom, ultra-smooth with hidden circular HLs and the upper grille *eliminated* for smooth bodywork with just the lower-fascia grille-opening remaining

found elsewhere....
The Fusion already had its Press Circuit back in May where they flew the press out to the West Coast.
From what I understand, it wasn't that well attended by the press.
The Sport won't see the same press treatment but a few non-press folk are getting their hands on them for reviews from the dealerships.
It doesn't look like the '17 MKZ has had any major press event yet, although the last one was a disaster for the MKZ with a very negative reviewer response (often erroneously negative)
so my guess is that they want to keep a controlled message out there this time for it's small and focused audience.
I think they will want to focus on Continental which is coming up shortly.

Cadillac Teases Upcoming Concept
AutoVerdict.com

By: Nick Saporito Aug 15, 2016

This morning Cadillac announced they will be displaying a new design concept during Monterey Car Week on August 18th. Virtually no details were released, other than the design will feature curved OLED screens co-developed with LG Electronics.

Along with the short release, Cadillac also released a brief video teasing what we assume to be the concept’s interior. The above photo was grabbed from the video.

...From the teaser we can see that a key element of the new concept will be its display technology. In a statement, Cadillac said the concept will feature an “array of curved OLED screens.”

Those OLED screens were developed with LG Electronics and form the main instrument cluster as well as a secondary infotainment screen. Crucially, the new design may be signaling the end of Cadillac’s much-maligned CUE infotainment system.

That’s all we know right now but we should have more details soon. The unveiling will be one of the major events of this week’s Monterey Car Week, and Cadillac will also stream it on its Facebook page on Thursday, August 18 starting at 10:45 p.m. Eastern Time:

Looks so 70's.... And that is not a bad thing. Look at this 1973 Cadillac Coupe DeVille interior pic:
