Acura is bringing a dead legend back to life with the unveiling of their NSX concept at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show.
The all new super car has lost some weight thanks to lightweight build materials and Acura’s race inspired philosophy of a well balanced power to weight ratio. The new NSX will be powered my a mid-mounted direct injection VTEC V6 engine which will utilize Acura’s hybrid super handling all wheel drive system. The SH-AWD system consists of two electric engines which operate independently of each other and can generate positive or negative torque to the front wheels during cornering. The V6 SH-AWD system will be paired with a dual clutch transmission outfitted with its own electric motor giving the NSX three separate electric power plants.
The Acura NSX supercar’s long gestation process is getting longer still, with the company confirming that this new model will begin production in spring 2016, later than a previously announced date of fall 2015. The hybrid supercar will now debut for the 2017 model year, though there’s not yet an official on-sale date...
...By the time it starts production at Honda’s plant in Marysville, Ohio, the resurrected NSX will have been in the public conscience for over four years. First making its debut in concept form at the 2012 Detroit auto show, the new NSX then debuted in production form at the 2015 Detroit auto show earlier this year...
This car is so old rigth now! 3 1/2 years since this debut. And still lack one year and a half to the launch as 2017 model!!!!!! A crazy thing, of course....

The coupe will start at $157,800 (including $1,800 freight) for customers in the US market, with fully-laden packages topping out at $207,500.
The entry-level price represents a roughly $20,000 to $50,000 premium above the Nissan GT-R, Audi R8, Aston Martin V8 Vantage and Porsche 911 GT3, among others. It is approximately on par with a Porsche 911 Turbo, but below the starting point for entry-level supercars offered by Ferrari and Lamborghini...
...The NSX represents Acura's first build-to-order vehicle, available in eight exterior hues and four interior color schemes. Configuration options include three seating surface materials, carbon-ceramic brakes and plenty of carbon-fiber upgrades...
...Once production of the 573-horsepower, all-wheel-drive hybrid is running at full tilt, Acura plans to sell about 800 NSXs a year in the U.S., its largest market globally. The cars will all be built to order in Ohio...

...I am not sure who would ever consider this at all????
As far as being seen in an expensive car, you can hardly beat an Aston Martin.
Since they all look great and super expensive, you might as well get the "cheapest one".
Which is this V8 Vantage model. Which starts at $124 000.
Yes, the Aston is almost $35 000 less than the NSX...
Another great choice: the all new Mercedes AMG GT. I sat in one as well, and I can tell you that it looks and feels twice as expensive as the Acura.
But. At $130 800, almost a bargain next to the NSX!
