Has anyome else tried a DVD? I have the SE with the Sony head unit, "My Ford Sync" I think they call itThe salesman told me that the CD player in my car is actually a DVD player and if in Park will play DVD movies.
I tried it and it didn't work. It takes in the DVD and spins for 15 seconds and then spits it back out with some sort of a read error message.
Audio CD's work fine.
, with NAV.
Thx,

MYFord Touch will play Audio CD's and only audio CD's. I think your salesman either has the technology confused or is misinformed.

The only time the DVD player (of any type) will read music like a CD is if the music in question is burned onto a DVD disc (DVD's have different coding and materials than a CD) and as such the laser in the DVD player will read the DVD like it should and play it like a CD because of the music files on it. I had a few albums burned onto DVD's so I used the DVD player in some of the Chrysler Vans at my old work to play them.
