Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Production, Shipping Halted Indefinitely

All Chevrolet Camaro ZL1′s are being held back from dealer lots according to a letter sent from GM head office to its dealer network today. The letter cites a quality assessment which needs to take place before the ZL1 can be sold to consumers.

No specifics are talked about in the letter, but obviously a fairly serious issue must have been found on the ZL1 for GM to hold back such a highly anticipated car. The hold may last more than a few weeks, and will involve every single ZL1 produced to date.

ZL1 has quality problems already. I still prefer the shelby, and that not because of the hp. I just don't like the camaro ZL1 front.
And just for fun here is a video of it against the Boss mustang.

It is ironic that Chevrolet has spent millions on its Shamaro commercials showing the car under development and running laps at the 'Ring.

Now we find that just like when the Shamaro first launched and was recalled TWICE in its first month on the market (four years of development work didn't work there), the Shamaro ZL1 is a complete dog and pony show. None of the GLARING deficiencies of the stock Shamaro have been addressed - still has the worst interior ever in a vehicle - still has HUGE tail light clusters that consume vast amount of trunk space and narrows the trunk opening - still has huge flat sheetmetal areas for the trunk hinges that will be guaranteed to rust out first and to make the trunk useless to use (unless you like wet and moldy things).

The Mustang may not have all the sexy aspects of the Shamaro's juvenile styling, but the Mustang is hands down the superior Pony Car. The Shamaro is Seaworld on Tires.
