First Official Shots of BMW's New 4-Series Gran Coupe Hit the Web

A couple of allegedly official photos of the upcoming BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe, which we hear will likely break cover at the Geneva Motor Show in the beginning of March, have surfaced online.
The photos, which appeared over at Autofilou, show a car that, from these angles at least, can easily be mistaken for the 3-Series Gran Turismo.

BMW actually just created a new segment after Mercedes created the segment above it with the CLS which BMW came to considerably late with its 6 series Gran Coupe.

This is how the 3 series must Looks. Why to buy a 3 series when you can buy this exactly the same car a bit moré atractive? Is a duplicate effort that i cant understand...

It seems that BMW has too many versions of the same car. I like the last gen 3-series and 5-series, and all the other stuff in-between is just filler. The face of the new 3-series and these cars look like they were pinched and are too low for the hight of the hood of the car.

The reason for the nonemclature shift, and for the unveiling of cars like the 4 series Gran Coupe is that the BMW brand is strong enough to justify based on profits of cars that appeal to the majority highly profitability niche vehicles that appeal to the minority. The X6 for instance has been an unexpected rousing success globally for BMW in a class it created, and the other two members of the global luxury triumvirate plan to follow.

Make no mistake cars like the 6 series Gran Coupe require minimal investment but create a situation where someone is paying almost 7 series money for a car much closer to the 5 series. It is absolutely masterful, and it allows companies like MB, and BMW to be amazingly profitable despite limited sales volume.
