Excellent March performance brought first quarter sales up by 45 percent, with 271,321 vehicles sold compared to 186,596 during the same period last year.

"We're pleased that China's car buyers continue to choose Ford," said John Lawler, Chairman and CEO of Ford China. Ford currently only has mid and premium price vehicles in China.

But coming this year and next, China is getting the new Escort priced below the Focus, and low priced $8,000 Ka, along with the premium Mondeo Wagon. I expect a big boost in sales when these models launch.

Along with Explorer being manufactured locally, that will drop it's price by about $5,000 due to import fees/taxes.
