Just the Facts:

Media reports says Ford's Start could go on sale in 2014.
The small car is expected to be priced below $13,000.
Start concept featured a three-cylinder EcoBoost engine.

LONDON — When Ford unveiled its huggable Start concept earlier this year at the 2010 Beijing Auto Show, it hinted that the tiny two-door coupe eventually could replace the long-lived Ka in global markets. The automaker also indicated that the Start's 1.0-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost engine also was headed to production.

A report Thursday from Britain's Autocar says a production version of the Start, priced from under $13,000, could go on sale in 2014, initially in emerging markets such as China, India and South America but eventually around the world, including Europe.

The four-passenger Start concept was designed at Ford's California advanced studio, under the direction of Freeman Thomas, drawing styling inspiration from, among other vehicles, the Porsche 356 Speedster.

Good!
Maybe i'm crazy, but i think this car could be a good Lincoln! Give it an upscale interior, with aluminiun, wood, alcantara and leather, all the infotaintment amenities Ford can put inside a car, a premium sale and service attention to the customers, the possibilitie of customize the car with many options, and you have a "Mini Cooper" for Ford. This car looks amazing and the style is like no other car on the roads.

I love the Start... no matter it will carry a Ford or Lincoln badge...

It would be interesting to see what the next Fusion/Taurus would look like with this design theme. The look is somewhat Ford Jellybean '80's which is not a bad thing. Using this design language a proper 4 seater Thunderbird and Mark9 could emerge. The upcoming auto shows should be exciting....

^ TurboS40, you might want to take a look at this thread:
Ford's Changing Faces

-- the first pic here is generally believed to be a development sketch of the current Taurus, but
it does have a bit of the trapezoid lower fascia that J Mays has been talking about lately (there's an interview from the recent Paris autoshow on AutolineDetroit)
-- the second pic is (iirc) from a different video/interview a few months ago at TheFordStorytho the front is quite close to the current Fusion imho (& doesn't have the trapezoid) perhaps the side scuplting is still in the pipeline
so
perhaps putting a version of the red car's face on the other's body could give some clue?
