Ford to Export Its Ranger Pickup Truck to 148 Countries From South Africa

Ford Motor Co. (F) plans to export its Ranger pickup truck to 148 countries from South Africa under a $500 million export program, Chief Financial Officer Lewis Booth said.

Ford over the past two years has expanded its assembly plant in Pretoria, the nation’s capital, to an annual production capacity of 110,000 vehicles, Booth told reporters today. Last year Ford, which also has a plant in Port Elizabeth in South Africa’s Eastern Cape province, sold about 48,000 vehicles from its South African operations into southern Africa, he said.

so I assume ford will build a LHD and RHD version in SA and what about AutoAlliance Thailand that does / did build the ranger
and doesn't the USA have a FTA with SA that should COVER the "chicken tax" ?

Both will build the Ranger, along with Argentina. And yes, we do have an FTA with them.
