Ford Turned Exclusive In China?
Mcrunch | May 22, 2015

Things have not been going well for Ford in China with sales slowing down with every passing second. Market researchers claim that this is because of Ford’s cars that are more expensive than its rivals in the nation.

Well, the market researchers are right and it does not help with China’s very own carmakers are growing in presence. For Ford, they view this as an opportunity to become an exclusive brand in China.

This is evident when Ford revealed that they won’t be reducing the price tag of any of their vehicles in China. Instead, Ford has decided to cut on production for the Chinese market.

With a limited number of cars that are sold at higher than average prices, it will make Ford no different from the luxury carmakers in China. An insider from Ford shared that they aim to capture the interest of Chinese consumers by becoming a rarity in China.

This was an interesting article, but it seems to be a bit off.

Did a little research. Comparing what Chevrolet offers with Ford in China, and there is not much of a variance in price. Actually it seems that Chevy recently brought their pricing down to where Ford's pricing was. But then again, with Ford, the consumer can option up the vehicle quite well.

Clearly, with Ford building new manufacturing plants, launching over 20 cars in two years in an attempt to increase market share in China, Ford would want anything but for the Ford brand to continue to be a rarity in China.

Is this from The Onion?
Lol Maybe maybe...

On a more serious note, based on all the Ford news we've been reading here lately Ford has been relying more and more on China like it was the only Asian country.
With the current relations of China with the US, Japan and its neighboring countries, does Ford have a back-up plan if they start imposing rules against US or any foreign manufacturers?
