Behind the scenes, the automaker is incentivizing its premium brand's offerings by up to $1,500 per sale, Bloomberg says. But it's not the presence of incentives that is as noteworthy as it is the fact that Ford is using stair-step incentives to move what the automaker calls "selective legacy vehicles" like its MKS sedan and MKX and MKT crossovers.

They have done stair step incentive programs for years on the F150, and quite frankly it would make sense that this incentive would be applied to the bottom line pricing offered.

All their doing is getting rid of old inventory especially ones that are not selling well. Sounds like a good idea to me.
