"The concept in Generation II is not going to change, up to 40 miles pure electric plus extended-range for [a] total of more than 300 miles," he wrote. "You can expect, however, that it will be achieved at a much lower cost level, and therefore, at a much lower price to the consumer. Wre [sic] are already working on the second generation battery and getting the same 40 miles out of a battery pack that is half the size, half the price is ambitious, but not impossible."
