It’s an SR-71 Blackbird, It’s a Plane, it’s Supercharged: Shelby-Roush SR-71 Mustang
Car and Driver

For over 30 years, the SR-71 Blackbird spy plane tore through the upper edge of the stratosphere at Mach 3.2. This one-off SR-71 Mustang won’t scramble to quite that speed, but with a supercharger bolted to Ford’s new 5.0 liter V8, it should have no trouble clearing your sinuses.

The name is only partially based on the famed jet – it’s also a combination of the name of the car’s unlikely partners: competitors Shelby and Roush, both renowned for their Mustang tuning operations...

...The SR-71 will be auctioned off July 29 at the Experimental Aircraft Association museum in Wisconsin, with proceeds to support EAA programs. With only one copy being built, it will probably be the only car in the world that Barrett Jackson 2060 can describe as a Shelby-Roush collaboration. It’s also the only way to truthfully ask your friends if they want a ride in your personal SR-71.
