"The electric vehicles aren't doing as well as hybrids, but they are selling better, and Tinskey is confident it is gradually increasing. "

This could have something to do with the fact that Ford does not market/advertise the Focus Electric. And what the consumer does not know exists, they won't buy.

Looking at comparable EVs, the Leaf has been selling over 3,000 units for the last two months and is now at 18,941 YTD. Focus electric has been below 200 for months, and 264 for August with just 1,358 YTD.

The BMW i3 just launched 4 months ago and sales have increased to 1,025 for August and has already passed the Focus Electric with YTD at 2,082.

I'm seeing a ton of Leaf ads lately, and I can't remember the last time I saw any advertising about the Focus electric.
