The Richard Nesbitt's Design Archives.
The gift that keeps on giving.

Thanks to the generosity of Mr. Richard Nesbitt we are able to post here, for your enjoyment and understanding of the Ford Motor company design history, a 1972 proposal for a Mustang II GT-KR and a Mustang II Premium-Level "Ghia" interior design idea from 1973.

Look at the finder and quarter panel lines. Reminds me of my wife's late model Windstar. It's amazing how Richard's designs held up and rubbed off on other FORD vehicles decades later.

My dad had a Granada Ghia. Of course the upgrades would be different today, I think Ford should bring out a premium line for all their cars. Maybe they will, as we are seeing a Platinum edition of the F-150. It could be similar to that, or partner with another company like they did with the Eddie Bauer Explorer. They may step on Mercury's toes right now, but I think Mercury will be re-invented soon, and target a completely different audience.
