2010 Paris: Renault DeZir Puts Leaf Drivetrain to Good Use

Being a European show, the Paris floor is buzzing with sustainable mobility, low CO2, and efficiency talk. Renault joined the fun with its DeZir electric sports car concept, which attempts to merge the EV future with a fun experience behind the wheel.

Renault has been working on electric vehicles through its alliance with Nissan and the DeZir has a little in common with the Nissan Leaf. The Leaf and Renault Z.E. (zero emission) line use the same electric motor, and the DeZir is the latest evolution of that motor. The 1830-pound car allegedly scoots to 60 mph in 5 seconds and can travel as far as 100 miles on a charge. As always, the charge time depends on the type of connection you can find.
