[Poll For Fun] Lincoln Performance Line

Hello everyone. Just for fun after looking back at the thread I started going over the history of the Lincoln Performance History (which you can find here: http://www.fordinsidenews.com/forum...-Collaboration-of-Lincoln-Performance-History ) I thought it would be fun to throw some ideas for a name for Lincoln's Performance line. I think it has been pretty well documented that Red Label might get the line but I thought of some things that might make it fun.

Cadillac has V, Lexus has F, BMW has M

Lincoln could use K?

OR a 2 letter designation?

The Mark VII and VIII had the LSC trim for the ultimate performance model and the LS had the LSE. LSC is Luxury Sport Coupe I believe and LSE was Limited Special Edition... so perhaps LS_ ?

Or just stick with Red Label.

Let's keep the discussion civil.

thanks for this thread Andrew L, I like LSC and Red Label, but I choose to stick with Red Label
I selected other as I don't really care for any of the options. On the other hand I don't really know of anything better!

But I do know I don't like the idea of various labels. I think they should have left it at Black Label, let that be unique to the lineup.
I would like to see the name EcoForce on the engine

Ecoboost was a great stroke of marketing genius! Ford wasn't the first to build these types of engines, but they're the only ones who've managed to take ownership of the desing in the public eye!

As for EcoForce, they'll never do better than their intended TwinForce for the 3.5EB!!

Thanks for your opinion,

mine is that EcoForce is better, even when I suggested it in an intercompany suggestion poll a decade ago.
I stuck with the "Red Label" designation, assumed to be the forthcoming performance variants. At the same time, though, if a coupe happens...working "LSC" into a top-line model of it wouldn't hurt my feelings.

But EcoForce sounds like the name of a group of liberal climate super dweebs dressed in tights and a cape!! :thumb:

TwinForce on the other hand brings to mind the Madsen twins dressed only in a cape!!

^I like TwinForce. :D

For the time being, Red Label is pretty unique....... K would be derivative, IMHO.

I like Twinforce too, Im not sure about K
I think Red label makes sense for the line as a whole. LSC was only used on performance 2-doors Marks VII and VIII. It would be too confusing to use LS then add C for 2-door and E for 4-door as we have had enough confusion with MKthisandthat.

K Series as in KA and KB would be ok for high-end models that were last used in the '30s but Black Label still fits for this time period.

I don't think "ECO" should be used in the twin turbo name for Lincoln. Leave the use of Eco to Ford and let Lincoln use TwinCyclone? Cyclone Force? CycloneBoost?
I like Twinforce too, Im not sure about K
K would be a throwback to the Model K like the Navigator K concept in the Performance History thread

Here is a 1938 Model K one of my favorite classic Lincolns

Those were nice, but they weren't performance cars.

No but it didn't stop them from using it on the Navigator K concept which would have used the F-150 Lightning's power train. They sure look more athletic than most cars of that era.
What about something Greyhound inspired?

I like this idea!

This actually is my background on my work computer:

Lincoln was the first luxury brand to successfully adopt a more streamlined look for their entire portfolio. The streamlined appearance started with the 1936 Zephyr and then the 1937 Model K refresh.
I like this idea!

I'm not sure what name would be appropriate. I guess you could use K. The Greyhound would make a great logo, though.

Here's an idea. What if the Red Label Lincolns had a red Lincoln emblem with Greyhounds?

It would be like the Continental Mark II emblem but all red and Greyhounds.

THANKS for the Poll, Andrew!

I like them almost as much as Lists & Charts

but
...Let's keep the discussion civil.
you GOTTA be kidding

(otoh
investing in COAL is probably a good idea; seeing as how many FiN stockings will be FILLED with it...)

[ on topic ]
my old idea was "HRL"
as in HotRodLincoln
&
tho it goes back so far (to a song from the late 50's/early 60's) that's it's kind of a joke,
I'm still quite serious about suggesting it...in a self-deprecating kind of way (dry semi-British humor?)
otoh
I'm also drawn to the old RollsRoyce mantra of just saying their HP is "sufficient";
implying it's déclassé to be overly concerned about the exact number of horses
plus
looking to the post-peak-petrol future: Why Bother?
OR
start out by using kiloWatts (there's a "K"!) since the electric motors & batteries are using that
(HP *can* be converted into it - as done in Australia & other modern countries)

but
as I've said before (& SP1966 said similar above)
using too many [Labels] ruins the whole scheme
(tho I do like [WhiteLabel] for pure bespoke - IF they ever offer anything near that)
