The Macan will continue to print money for Porsche like the rest of their lineup does.
What's interesting is that the Lincoln MKX outsells the best selling Porsche Cayenne where 2012 was 15,554 to 25,107 for the US. And the new MKC should outsell the Macan by similar margins. Which is why it's so important for Lincoln to go Global, with China the first major step.

Would be great to see the next MKX competing with the Cayenne, X5, M class (of course a Red Label perfomance trim), so the MKC could compete with the Q5, X3 and this Macan instead
(I think now the MKX compete with the Q5,X3, RX, GLK and the MKC will compete with the Q3, X1,GLA)

Porsche is the most profitable automaker in the world, and the Cayenne at this point is basically printing money for Porsche since all development costs were written off in the development budget of the Touareg. Also although arguably the MKX is a tangential competitor to the Cayenne the two vehicles are in quite divergent price classes.
