Retro roller lifters are very popular and a great way to add radical cam profiles while retaining drivability with better vacuum for power brakes, etc. I am considering them for my next build. Reduced friction benefits are of course great, but so too is the lack of having to break in a cam. At start up, literally, you can run it hard with zero break in. And with the many cams available, there is zero downside, other than a bit more price. But it also explains how so many are making 450hp and more these days with small blocks that are very street-able. And heck, who don’t want a bit better mpgs too.
