Automation coming to life at Ford's Louisville Assembly Plant - bizjournal

The new version of the Ford Escape won’t be unveiled until later this fall, but Ford Motor Co. offered a sneak preview on Friday of the retooled Louisville Assembly Plant where the next generation of its compact SUV will be built.

In a tour with Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear, Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer and members of the media, plant manager John Savona showed off improvements to the 3 million-square-foot plant since Ford began its $600 million overhaul earlier this year.

Most notable are the robots and automated systems that now fill the production floor. While they’re set for production of the next-generation Escape, Savona said the entire plant could be reprogrammed within hours to produce other vehicles Ford plans to build on the same platform...

Im getting excited now because of this news "The new version of the Ford Escape won’t be unveiled until later this fall, but Ford Motor Co. offered a sneak preview on Friday of the retooled Louisville Assembly Plant where the next generation of its compact SUV will be built" I hope they have full electric cars....
