Though it currently owns more marques than any other automaker, Volkswagen is reportedly gearing up to add yet another brand to its burgeoning global family.

I've wonder about Fomoco adding/consolidating ''a line of cars with a starting price under 7,500 euros ($9,930) as a new brand''...

...not sure how I'd feel if that was the only way that Mercury could return...

...tho one thing for sure;
for Fordish egos, an el cheapo nameplate CANNOT be named "Ford"
Id be like..."u sure?"

whacha mean, ausrutherford?

what I meant is that Fomoco would be (at least) *tempted* to kill any brand they have that's "above" the Ford Brand
imho
if Mercury had been a scion/'poverty brand', it'd still be alive
I thought you meant that Ford execs would not want to cheapen Ford and would instead want to release another brand. I'd say let them make a Ford that cheap.
