Thanks to LincolnFanFL's Conti brochure we now know the 2.7T is in the mix,
so made (too?)minor changes:

Continental ................. P > +3290 >> S > +3765 >> R > +7235 >> [BL]
................... loaded: .....? ..... 67500 ...... 79500 ........ 81500
3.0T Awd+ 420hp 400tq ..... ------ .....$56280 ..... $60045 ....... $67280
3.0T Awd 400hp 400tq ...... ------ .....$55280 ..... $59045 ....... $66280
2.7T Awd 335hp 380tq ...... $50990 .....$54280 ..... $58045 ....... $65280
2.7T Fwd 335hp 380tq ...... $48990 .....$52280 ..... $56045 ....... $63280
3.7 Awd 300hp 270tq ....... $47990......$51280 ..... ------ ....... ------
3.7 Fwd 300hp 270tq ....... $45990 .... $49280 ..... ------ ....... ------
2.#T F/Awd 250-300hp > export only

played with hp/tq numbers, separated the Torque-Vectoring (Awd+) &
omitted a Fwd 3.0T ...which makes that unique for the MKZ
Wonder if the Conti's 3.0T will require any Pkgs which would raise its default prices?
.
Good question...

The addition of the 2.7 as standard feature on the Reserve surprised me since this is a new direction currently not seen on the MKZ. Who knows - maybe this is an indicator that Lincoln is playing with the idea of making the 3.0T standard on the BL?:angel

That would be a nice bait to sell more BLs...
Depends on the difference in cost between the 2.7 and 3.0 with the advanced AWD. Forcing the added expense, if significant enough, would be no better than Cadillac forcing AWD onto any CT6 buyer who doesn't want the 4 banger.

CHOICE is a good thing, especially when lack of choice is used as a driver to move upgrade packages.
I AGREE, SP :joyous:
&
[BL] *is* about appearance/touch/look basically not performance
&
well, technically/actually the brochure doesn't say that [BL] woN'T get the 3.7 (does it?)...
...I wonder

I agree.

Before my SA gave me the brochure, I told him that the first thing I'd 'axe' on a fully loaded BL would be the engine-upgrade if the vehicle would become too expensive. After all, the Conti is not a racecar. Not even with +400 HP.

I was just wondering what Lincoln had in mind by throwing in the 2.7 on the Reserve. If the BL would come with the same engine standard, customers might be asking 'when I'm supposed to pay xx amount more over the Reserve, why don't I get an upgrade?'

We know it's silly - but does everybody else know?

I could also imagine that Lincoln is considering packing the top trims with as many options as possible to keep the 'fully loaded' price low(er).

Of course, choice is great - but it's expensive. After all, selling a $85K Lincoln at this point in time isn't easy, either.

Lincoln needs to open the door for BL customers - and an attractive 'all-inclusive' package might very well be the magic key.

wonder if instead [BL] could be Awd Std??
Continental ................. P > +3290 >> S > +3765 >> R > +7235 >> [BL]
................... loaded: .....? ..... 67500 ...... 79500 ........ 81500
3.0T Awd+ 420hp 400tq ..... ------ .... $56280 ..... $60045 ....... $67280
3.0T Awd 400hp 400tq ...... ------ .... $55280 ..... $59045 ....... $66280
2.7T Awd 335hp 380tq ...... $50990 .... $54280 ..... $58045 ....... $65280
2.7T Fwd 335hp 380tq ...... $48990 .... $52280 ..... $56045 .......($63280)
3.7 Awd 300hp 270tq ....... $47990..... $51280 ..... ------ ....... $62380
3.7 Fwd 300hp 270tq ....... $45990 .... $49280 ..... ------ ....... ------
2.#T F/Awd 250-300hp > export only

my main doubt about ^this^ is that the 'steps' withIN a trim are so close
THO that's just for drivetrain-$tep$, the Pkgs will still be the main price differences...

...meant to point out that the loaded price diff betwn Reserve & [BL] is only $2k (based on MKX)

- - - - - - -

re-checked the MKX configurator & the 2.7EB is a $2k upcharge over the 3.7
but AWD is + $2.5k
(made the 3.0T & GKN equal $1250 steps)(+ found an error or 3?^)
so
Continental ................. P > +3290 >> S > +3765 >> R > +7235 >> [BL]
................... loaded: .....? .....~67500 ......~79500 ........~81500
3.0T Awd+ 420hp 400tq ..... ------ .... $56280 ..... $60045 ....... $67280
3.0T Awd 420hp 400tq ...... ------ .... $55030 ..... $58795 ....... $66030
2.7T Awd 335hp 380tq ...... $50490 .... $53780 ..... $57545 ....... $64780
2.7T Fwd 335hp 380tq ...... $47990 .... $51280 ..... $55045 .......($62280)
3.7 Awd 305hp 270tq ....... $48490..... $51780 ..... ------ ....... $62780
3.7 Fwd 305hp 270tq ....... $45990 .... $49280 ..... ------ ....... ------
2.#T F/Awd 250-300hp > export only

so far I'm still liking All Reserves being "EB" (please excuse that)
but All
[BL] being AWD

note: since we now KNOW the Conti will start in the $45-50k bracket,
feel free to post intermediate or top prices

Hey Bell,
having sat in several MKX BL's as well as the Conti, I have to say, there is no contest. The Conti makes the MKX feel about 2 generations old.
From photos it looks like they've stepped it up a couple of notches, my main reservation about the Conti is size, I don't have to worry about parking or anything like that I just don't know if I'd want to drive a car that big. I've yet to see it but I will this weekend in Cleveland, I doubt they'll have it unlocked but it would be nice if they did.

Not sure if I just talked to a clueless salesman...he told me he could build a Continental for me(without pricing)--I would think they wouldn't be able to do this until it's closer to the ordering banks opening.

Take him up on the offer and see if it's legit. Could be interesting!

I never did get the Continental built as the salesman said, and I asked my sister and she said it's not in their system yet. Anyway, orders for the 17 MKX start in June so I'll probably hold off until then to see if there are any noticeable changes. I'm going to the Cleveland Auto Show tomorrow so I'll get some pics of the Continental--I'm assuming it'll be there, they had the GT there last year.

So, I called the dealer and told him I'm no longer interested in the MKX and to let me know when I can order the Continental so I can place an order ASAP.😁
:thumb: COOL!

have you started thinking about stuff(trim) & colors yet, Bell (may I call you 'Bell'? :joyous:)

Of course, Midnight Sapphire Blue, with the light interior(I don't know the name), with the Jade Ash Swirl veneer, as far as wheels go, the only ones I like so far are the ones that are 21" optional on the MKX. And yes you may call me Bell, everyone butchers my last name anyway.:)
